About Stephanie Foster Yoga
Stephanie Foster has been at the forefront of yoga for more than 20 years, helping thousands of people bend, stretch and tone their bodies-while also focusing their minds-through yoga programs that emphasize alignment, core strength and appropriate movement.
Stephanie started as a professional dancer. She traveled all over the United States-and the world-with such companies as Dennis Wayne and Dancers, The Feld Ballet, and Twyla Tharp Dance. While she was dancing, she was introduced to many body awareness practices, including the Alexander Technique, Pilates, Feldenkrais, and Gyrotonics. But it was in the disciplines of the martial arts and yoga where Stephanie found her passions in her post-dancing life.
Stephanie earned her third degree black belt from the World Seido Karate Organization and was one of only two females in the school to be invited to Japan to introduce the system. She taught karate to both children and adults for more than fifteen years.
In yoga, Stephanie originally started training in the Iyengar style when she was dancing with Twyla Tharp. She continued her training in the Kripalu method and trained and taught under Noll Daniel and The Urban Yoga Workout. Over the years, she has trained in the most prominent methods of yoga in the U.S. and with the most highly-regarded teachers.
Drawing from all her experience, Stephanie's deep knowledge of body movement has transformed the practice of yoga into a life-altering experience with profound holistic achieving perfect form, and through a disciplined approach, she guides clients through a yoga practice designed to meet their individual needs. Many clients remain devoted to Stephanie's instruction for years, and some have gained enough therapeutic benefit from working with her to heal their bodies naturally, thereby avoiding surgical procedures.
